BRANDI ALLERDINGS
PT, DPT
DOCTOR OF PHYSICAL THERAPY
I am from southeastern Montana. My dad ranches with my uncle on the land my family homesteaded when they emigrated from Germany in 1906. I graduated as the high school salutatorian and was the prom queen. I graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in Exercise Science from Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. I earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
While a physical therapy student at Nova Southeastern University, I had single day clinical experiences at Baptist South Miami Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nicklaus Children’s West Kendall Outpatient Center Nova Southeastern University Physical Therapy Clinic Broward Health North Broward’s Children Center While a physical therapy student at Nova Southeastern University, I had clinical internships ranging from 4 to 12 weeks at The Woodlands at John Knox Village Bethesda Hospital East Jackson North Medical Center One to One Physical Therapy and Aquatics Pigeon Forge Care and Rehabilitation Center As a physical therapist, I evaluated and treated patients at an outpatient clinic in Boynton Beach, FL for approximately 2 years. Each year since graduating, I complete at least 16 hours of continuing education on topics such as shoulder arthroplasty, vestibular compensation exercises, abdominals in the postpartum patient.
One of my favorite mottos is ever evolving. I am obsessed with my self-development in every dimension of wellness: physical, emotional, spiritual, and financial. “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” ~ Micah 6:8 “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” ~ Matthew 3:14-16
“Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her. And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.” ~ Hosea 2:14-15
I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy. I read your intake forms and prescription from your doctor before we met. We discuss your medical history and the problem that brings you into the clinic during your evaluation. I examine your range of motion, strength, balance, and other appropriate objective tests. We discuss a general plan for treatment based on your goals and the findings from your physical exam. I develop your specific physical therapy treatment plan which may include strength, muscle endurance, and range of motion exercises; manual therapy techniques; balance activities; and modalities such as laser or cupping. If appropriate, I will send you home with a handout of a few exercises to get started with until your next session with me or my physical therapist assistant. Your physical therapy assistant will follow the plan for treatment that I developed for you. I review and sign my physical therapist assistant’s notes so I am aware of how you are progressing. I will progress with your treatment and add new exercises as appropriate.
Something that we deal with that I wish to change is the negative, victim mindset that their physical condition or medical diagnosis has become their identity. Your MRI is not a life sentence for unending pain. No. Come to High Desert Physical Therapy and let’s work together to fix that. Hippocrates is quoted as saying: “Before you heal someone, ask him if he’s willing to give up the things that make him sick.” Your mindset and self-discipline will influence your ability to heal.
Something I love treating is Pregnant and postpartum women, Vestibular hypofunction, and Neck pain with headaches.
Something I love about working at High Desert Physical Therapy is
the physical work environment is beautiful and spacious. The emotional work environment is healthy among all of the staff from the front office to therapists. My boss Dr. Pugmire has researched and selected the most effective equipment for our patients to recover including a class IV laser, BEMER (PEMF device), Hypervolt percussion massage gun, and cups for negative pressure soft tissue mobilization. Dr. Pugmire is committed to continual improvement. After his continuing education courses, he shares new manual therapy techniques or exercises with me to improve our practice.

Patient Testimonials
“Coming into physical therapy I had dislocated and re-dislocated my shoulder multiple times. I couldn’t reach into my backseat or really do much of anything without pain or discomfort. Brandi gave me exercises and I could feel myself hurting less until I could be back to normal. As well as helping me heal, I was able to befriend almost everyone here which was absolutely amazing. Maddie and Brandi were the two I spent the most time with and both helped me learn so much. Brandi even convinced me to change my diet which has benefitted me beyond belief. I feel that I grew as a person and am now walking away with another great experience. They also gave me the only Valentine’s gift I received and I am beyond grateful.” ~ Raymond B.
“Brandi is the best PT. She is gentle, empathetic, and truly makes you feel understood. She taught me exercises to do at home to assist in neck mobility. The 2nd best PT is 4 legged Gus! He makes sure you feel safe. I love Gus.” ~ Michelle O.
“My experience at High Desert PT was amazing. Brandi did an amazing job and was a great friend. She socialized with me throughout all of my appointments. The environment is fun and welcoming. Before I came here I was struggling to throw a baseball, even lift my arm at some points. I would feel pain in my shoulder after and during workouts. After a hard 8 weeks, my shoulder has no pain and I can throw and workout hard again. They re-strengthened my muscle and made it much stronger. Big thanks to Brandi for her help every week and getting to know each other. I trust the people here, they want the best for everyone.” ~ Kevin D.
